CUSTOMER STORY

AIGLE, the French heritage outdoor and lifestyle brand, has worked with Tilkal since 2022 to trace its shoes and apparel from raw material to store, measure the environmental impact of its collections, and turn that data into a consumer-facing Digital Product Passport (DPP), going beyond what France’s AGEC anti-waste law requires.
The AGEC law made environmental labeling and traceability information mandatory for apparel and footwear sold in France, but for AIGLE the requirement was also an opportunity: a brand built on durability and outdoor quality had every reason to prove its supply chain claims rather than simply state them. The challenge was structural: most fashion and footwear supply chains stop tracking data reliably beyond their tier-1 supplier, exactly where raw material origin, environmental impact, and compliance risk are hardest to see and hardest to prove.
AIGLE and Tilkal built end-to-end traceability covering the full lifecycle - from raw material to store - across shoes and apparel. The initial rollout, launched with the Spring/Summer 2022 collection, covered 55 models, with data collection automated beyond tier-1 suppliers to reach further upstream into the value chain than manual reporting ever could.
AIGLE’s DPPs run on the same Supply Chain Data Hub logic Tilkal uses across sectors: collect once, structure the data, and reuse it for AGEC, for future DPP regulations beyond Europe, and for the next collection.

The Handbook covers the 15 regulations you absolutely must know about, considering the substantial impact they will have on the way companies conduct their traceability strategies in all industries. It provides a useful starting point for you to investigate which regulations apply to you and determine what you need to do to comply with them.
Leveraging Tilkal’s platform, Valrhona ensures cocoa beans' traceability back to their original plot and a firm comprehension of the upstream supply chain, building a solid foundation for the brand's ESG commitments to support local communities, and ensure compliance with deforestation regulations.
